Winter Camping Policies
All standard campground policies apply.

Winter Camping Specific Policies:
All sites will be paid in full on the first day of your stay.
All reservations and payments will be made through the online reservation system. At the time of reservation a 50% deposit will be charged, the remaining 50% will be charged to the card on file no later than 6pm the first day of your stay. You will receive an email verification for that payment. www.prairieislandcampground.com/reservations.
Cancellations are required to be made no later than 6pm, 1 day prior to your stay in order to receive a refund.
Camp Hosts will be onsite daily to confirm that reservations are accurate and paid in full.
Camping is allowed in designated sites only.
Maximum Stay of 3 nights with a minimum of 3 days between stays.
Maximum of 8 people per site with a maximum 3 tents.
Nonprofit organizations and groups that will be teaching or facilitating outdoor experiences and activities will be allowed to exceed the number of camping units per site by up to 2 additional units and no more than 12 people total.
No tow behind campers or Class A or C Motorhomes allowed. Class B campers (Sprinters) are allowed but may need to park in the lot nearest a rented site. Sites will often require walk-in access only from the adjacent parking areas. This is not an RV Park situation.
Vehicle camping is allowed (This includes class B Rv units, Sprinters) although sites could often be snowed in or inaccessible because of recent snowfall. Any vehicle that becomes stuck will be the responsibility of the owner to safely free or have a professional towing company hired to free the vehicle. Any damage to the park grounds or infrastructure will be the responsibility of the vehicle owner. Make good choices please.
Long Term running of a vehicle's engine driven heating system as a primary heat source is not allowed.
Free standing generators are not allowed at any time.
Firewood is self serve on the honor system. $10 per purple tote filled level. Individuals who are found abusing this system will be banned from the park indefinitely.
No outside firewood can be brought in with the exception of Minnesota Department of Agriculture Certified firewood. (Example: Gas Station Firewood, although the wood available at PIC is a better deal.)
Propane firepits are allowed.
Fires are not to exceed 4ft tall at any time.
Absolutely no burning of garbage, construction debris, or pallets of any kind.
Recycling and Garbage dumpsters are available on site for waste.
