Mission

The PIC Community Garden and Patio was built to promote healthy eating, serve as a gateway to outdoor recreation, engage community members with multiple perspectives, provide learning opportunities for youth, and sustain biological diversity.  This central gathering space fosters interaction between PIC guests as well as Winona area community members by hosting art and culture: music performances, informational events, arts and crafts opportunities, and film viewings. All gardeners agree that additional produce from this garden will be shared with PIC volunteer and student groups, short-term users of PIC, and Winona Volunteer Services.

Support for this Garden

This garden was made possible through a collaborative effort between the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP) grant funded by the Minnesota Department of Health and PIC managers, Front Porch Management.

In order to promote living healthier lifestyles, this garden, patio and central gathering space is designated 100% Tobacco-Free.  Thank you for not using any form of tobacco or electronic cigarettes in this area.
